Expired drugs, unlicensed nurses, stray cats and scuttling rats were among the horrors that emerged from police inspections of Italian hospitals that recommended possible investigations against more than 100 people, health officials said Thursday. Health Minister Livia Turco promised swift action, but insisted that Italians could still trust their health system, noting the problems affected a minority of the country's hospitals. Special health units from the Carabinieri paramilitary police inspected 321 of Italy's 672 public medical centers this week, reporting shocking instances of poor hygiene, officials said at a news conference at the Health Ministry. Some 17 percent of hospitals, mostly in southern and central Italy, had problems serious enough to recommend possible judicial investigations against 111 people, the Health Ministry said. Thirty-six percent of hospitals were found to have administrative violations.

My daughter, her husband and her mother in law returned from France at the end of last summer. The mother became sick with the flu. The hotel called a Parisian doctor and he was there in 10 minutes. He prescribed the correct drugs, and the whole experience cost them a total of $25. We need Universal Health Coverage.

I spent the holidays in Ireland, where they were planning on passing a law to ensure that no one would wait in a hospital waiting room more than 6 hours before seeing a dr. The radio was full of people complaining about 12 hour waits and worse. Look before you leap America. Ireland is one of the best! There is a reason why anyone who can afford it in Europe comes to the USA for treatment.

Naturally the dummycrats want a national health system to create more patronage jobs and hide the payoffs that national health will create. Look at the Canadian mess not to mention events in Europe and You can see why their systems do not work. The dummycrats want to force insurance on everyone but illegals and those in the underground economy will not pay anything. The young who do not usually get insurance will be given a hidden tax in the form of mandatory health insurance. More waste of money for less service. I am already getting ripped off for Medicare that I do not use and the Part D also rips people off because of the deductables and co pays.
