I'm 25, from Italy and lately I've been thinking about going into nursing but I would love to do it in the US because I'm just in love with that country, so my question(s) are: - does any1 know a good nursing school in Los Angeles? - are nursing schools very expensive? Thanks!!! I appreciate any help!

I don't know about LA but I know that Simmons College in Boston is a great nursing school. It is expensive. It's in the $30,000 U.S. dollars range annual for tuition alone. It's a small and women only school. They recently updated their library. The school is near other colleges so there are more opportunities to study at nearby colleges if that is of interest to you. I know it's not LA but if you want to be also near the best hospitals in the country then it might be worth a look.

The only thing that is required for a nursing school to be good is accredidation. In the end, all that matters is that you have your RN certificate. Most states have a community college system with an RN program. Plus alot of states have state run school with a BSN program. The prices will be high if you are not a resident of the state but not as high as private schools.

I attend Cerritos Community College in Norwalk which is in the LA metro area. It is the best community college in the area. The facilities are new and the teachers are experienced. I have attended and have visited other schools; some are good and a few are substandard schools like los angeles harbor college If you want get a 4 year degree I would high recommend going to California State University Long Beach.

For nursing student: what are your fundamental studying books? In Italy we study on american books, translated in our language and I'm wondering if you usually study on the same ones. I just graduated in December and here's a list Fundamentals of nursing (authors Potter and Perry) Medical-Surgical Nursing (authors Lewis and Heitkemper) Maternity & Women's Health Care (author Lowdermilk & Perry) Nursing Care of Children (authors James & Ashwill) Those are the primary sources of study in my nursing program. There were many, many others, but we mostly used the books listed.

In Cyprus they start with about 1000 euro per month but the more skills she has the more money she takes. What is 68k ?
2 :
I don't think that the salary for a starting nurse is that high in Europe but I'm not sure.
