i think my fiance has depression....?
my fiance broke up with me 4 days ago, he said our arguement during the last few days was only part of it, but also he was fed up of life, himself, me..im starting to think he may be suffering from depression due to being let down by job prospects abroad : refused jobs in qatar 2 times and waiting for job in italy for over 2.5 years. he is a qualified nurse in Tunisia which pays low so he cant afford to save for us to get engaged or married at the moment. he is also working 2 jobs in hospital&airport to save a bit. but i want to know if ppl wud say he sounds like his suffering from depression, if so what shud i do? i sent him a sms 2 b supportive a few mins ago, but im worried he will isolate himself more unless i do more to fix our relationship..plz help. thx

give him space - that's all you can do. tell him to quit sugar and keep hydrated those two things cause depression fast.
2 :
Offer him help as a friend. Be encouraging and understanding but dont try to get him back. Let him decide that since he is the one that broke up with you. Find him some self help articles and register him on employment websites, also help with applications. However I am concerned about the way he handles difficult situations, shunning you shouldnt have been an option. What if you get married and one day he does that again??
3 :
honestly is very easy for a guy to become depress see the current women mentality PS especially here in US
4 :
Avoid the temptation of trying to diagnose him with depression or any other behavioral disorder. You're not qualified to do that. This is the time when you should have your eyes wide open in your relationship. Take a good look at this man. Observe how he deals with disappointment and setbacks in life, and then connect the dots. This is how he will be when you are married to him. There are lots of challenges in a marriage, and there will be plenty of things that won't go his way. You can expect him to bail out on you whenever the going gets tough.

Doesn't sound as though he is suffering from that. He has other reasons for breaking up which only you know about because he said that the arguments were only "a part of it". No one would break up a relationship for the reasons you think he has. You need to talk to him to find out if it was just the arguments that made him end the relationship and if not what other reason does he have.

Yes, it sounds like depression and he is also tired of you. Better start getting on your knees.
2 :
He may be suffering from depression, yes - but that might not be why he broke up with you. He may have been unhappy in the relationship, and that by turn could have made him feel depressed, rather than the other way round. It's impossible to know. However, it's great that you want to be supportive. You can continue to be supportive, unless he makes it clear he wants to be left alone, but give the support unconditionally and don't put him under pressure to continue your relationship, as that will be counter-productive. Explain to him that, regardless of how he feels about you, he seems depressed, and that even though you've broken up, if there's anything you can do to help him, he can let you know and that he shouldn't feel under any pressure.
3 :
the problem is more on your side with your own. give him room. If he needs help from you then he will tell you so. Depression is a personal condition and we can only learn to control it or be medicated for it. The insecurity appearing in your question spells something you ought to discuss with another whom can read between the lines.
