What photos are your computer desk

What photos are your computer desk?
Okay so it doesn't have to be a computer desk, that's just where I keep the photos which mean the most to be :) I was just wondering out of interest what the most beloved photos you have are and why it's important to you ... Mine include 1. My Papa as a young boy it's a black and white snap which just doesn't give the colors of Italy a chance but the smile on his face as he looks down from a tree branch to my Nonno makes up for it 2. My Mama as a young girl in rural spain, dressed in her best dressed with muddy knees and dipping her feet off the edge of Abuelo's fishing boat which just reminds me how much of a tomboy my put together feminine mother really was 3. My parents' wedding photo is considered plain by any standards in the modern day but Mama's simple white dress is the one I fell in love with as a little girl and I've never seen my Papa stand so strong in a suit which actually fits and doesn't have marinara sauce on it so mixed with the looks on their faces which first taught me what love was, this is one of my favorite photos 4. There is a collage of photos, two side by side - The first is of my oldest brother holding me just hours after I was born, he was just a toddler with bed head, mismatched clothes and a milk moustache but he looks so proud to be a big brother - The second is about four years later when my younger brother was born and is built around the same set up, my brother still hasn't brushed his hair and Papa has obviously tried yet failed to plait my hair so that one if falling out and the other is on top of my head but yet again my big brother looks so protective over both of us and my baby brother is squeezing my finger as I smile at him 5. The first photo of my husband and me back when we were six years old and simply best friends, we're squeezed together onto the tree swing in my back garden talking quietly - It's innocent, simple and almost plain but it just speaks bounds about our relationship 6. A photo of my brothers and I sitting on the couch when I was eight - My left arms in a cast which is already been scribbled on, my older brother is nursing a broken fist and my little brother has a bleeding nose with a tissue bunched up to it all because someone had pushed me off the jungle gym and my ten and four year olds brothers had decided they had to do something ... It reminds me how over protective my family can be 7. My husband and I, aged around twelve lying on my couch fast asleep surrounded by history textbooks - His back is pressed against the arm and I've slipped in between his legs, pressed up against his chest in my sleep as his arms wrap around my waist and it just goes to show how we fell in love long before we admitted it to each other :P 8. My first ever prom when I was fourteen years old, I was so excited that someone had asked me to the dance and spent weeks looking for the perfect dark green dress so that I look extremely happy awkwardly curling my arm around my date's with my husband/best friend at the time stood beside us with his date - The photo has a rip through it, seperating my date and I after a found him kissing another girl after the dance ... My husband found it after we moved in together and sellotaped it back together to show me how jealous he actually looks in the photo because although I knew he didn't like my date, I never knew it was because he wanted to ask me himself 9. My high school graduation photo has all my family in it and that's a heck of a lot of people :) Papa was so proud of his little princess graduating that he flew both families from Italy and Spain to California just so they could see it - I'm standing in the center with both my brothers either side of me, my youngest wearing my graduation cap and my oldest holding my diploma high above my head so I can't reach So that's just some of mine, what are yours?

I have a whole bunch of pictures in a storage chest in my room. But the ones I have on display are mostly of my daughter. I have a collage type thing going on that has 3 frames. Two are just my daughter, the middle one has a picture of my boyfriend and I pre-parenthood, under that is an ultrasound picture, under that is our daughter on her 1st birthday.
2 :
Everyone who represents joy and happiness in my life: portraits of my 2 daughters, picture of our family when we went to Disney World on my eldest's 7th birthday, family picture taken on a studio last father's day, and a picture of my parents, me and my husband, and my 2 other sisters with their spouses all together when we visited out home country.
3 :
well at my work its a group picture of all my 9 nieces and nephews , i am currently on maternity leave so i will be taking a picture of my beautifull little girl when i go back
4 :
my are of my daughter and me and her father. My favorite is a picture of her and daddy together at the park. She is sitting on a large turtle and he is behind her. Ever time I look at that picture it reminds me of all the laughter we shared that day. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. But I think it worth a lot more in feelings.
5 :
Every picture I have is special and important to me, especially the baby pictures of our little girl. I have a scrapbook for her and most of them are in there. My husband got me a digital frame for Vday and I have tons of there too. The rest are on my computer.
6 :
I don't have any pictures on my computer. I have a external hard drive that I keep all my digital pictures on, but I tend to print out all the pictures on the digital camera once a month and stick them in a photo album.

What career should I look into

What career should I look into?
I want to see the world. Every bit of culture and history that it has to offer. I am so fascinated by every culture that there is. I want to know everything about every group of people there is. I am especially fascinated by Eastern Countries, for some reason. I want to see Morocco, Italy, Indonesia, and my dream is to some day, move to Sri Lanka. I want to just run through puddles of mud with no shoes on, and not worry about buying the latest trends. I want to stand face to face with an elephant (I think). What I really dream of, is helping. Talking to, and caring for all Underdeveloped ethnic groups I can get my hands on. What I really want to do, is just know everything? I don't know, I'm just fascinated by Culture. So what career do you think that I should go into? I am in Nursing School, so do you think that I should just be a traveling nurse? HELPPPP!

As a nurse you could be very valuable to an NGO (Non Governmental Organization) like Doctors Without Borders. You could serve a couple years in the Peace Corps and see some of the world. There are lots of opportunities for health care workers, especially in the third world. You might consider taking a third-world language, like Arabic or Swahili or Urdu or Hindi.
2 :
Pilot or flight attendant or maybe world wide relief worker.

Speech For funeral

Speech For funeral.....?
Hi, My grandmother just died and I want to read this letter i just wrote to her at her funeral. thoughts? (sorry its long) Dear Grandma, I love you. They are three simple words but they are so powerful. You taught me that. I have never felt as loved as I did when I would visit you. I want you to know what and incredible person you are. You changed the lives of everyone around you. Your life was so powerful and meaningful and I wonder if you know that. You will forever live on in my heart and our family’s hearts. Without you I could not be the same person I am today. The kisses you blew me every time we would say see you soon, the wet smooch you would give me on my cheek when I would walk in the door, and how you would grab my hand and get so excited just when you saw my face. They were all such little things, yet they taught me the power of love and family. You showed me how a family could love one another and how a family should be. I can’t thank you enough for being my grandmother. I don’t know how you did it. You faced some incredible challenges that I cannot imagine facing. You worked your hardest to make sure your kids and grandkids would not have to face those challenges. Thank you. Every time I would see you, you would have a story. Sometimes they were the same ones and others were new, or you would take and old story and jazz it up to make it a lot more interesting. There was the story of the time 2 handsome doctors carried you over the bridge in Italy. Or the time you were walking down the streets of Boston with a friend and saw two French sailors. Your friend told you to speak to them in French so you said “Bonjour Sir Capitain!” and as you would say, “and after that we couldn’t get rid’ of ‘em the whole day.” One time you told me that when in Italy you snuck into a museum with your sister, and for reasons I don’t remember were chased all over the city by a security guard and you had to hide in your hotel room for days. I think that was one of your embellished stories. Either way it made me laugh. I am so proud to have you as my grandmother. I truly can’t tell you that enough. I know you’re not gone, your spirit is still alive and well I promise, and I see a little more of you each day in the little things I or my aunts or cousins say and do, from the tissues I keep in my pockets and purse at hand at all times or the cookies and chocolates I keep stashed away in my room. I want to promise that I will not give up on my art work, I promise that I will always think of you if I go to France or travel anywhere for that matter and take lots of pictures , and I promise I will play a tune on the piano for you every now and then. I will make sure that Caitlin looks beautiful at her wedding. And I promise that we will all dance the night away, because I know how you always loved a good party and some good food. I want you to know how loved you are, from all your family, friends, my friends, family friends, nursing home staff, doctors, everybody you spoke to! We love you so much. I miss you grandma I really do. But I love you even more. You helped me face so many challenges without ever knowing it. When I would come visit you whatever I had been thinking or worrying about that day had disappeared, whether it was friends or school work, all that mattered was family and how lucky I was to have you and sit there and hold your hand. I want you to know that every once and a while when I would do bad on a test or get impatient with a friend I would think how you and grandpa would always tell me just how much you love me, and then I would be alright. Thank you. I conquered some of my biggest fears thanks to you. During one of my last visits to see you, I had said something to you and you just looked at my mom and said “Sweet Anna” with such a loving look on your face, which meant more than you will ever know to me. You are the most incredible person I have ever met in my life, and I was lucky enough for you to be my grandma. I know you wouldn’t want us to be sad. You would want us to have fun and maybe have a cookie. Whenever I see a pretty cloud, a tree blowing in the wind, a sunset, a day at the beach, mountains, flowers, anything beautiful, I’ll always here you in my head saying “I wish I could paint that.” You are a beautiful person grandma, the most beautiful person I have ever met inside and out. Your life was beautiful, and you raised a beautiful family that I am blessed to call my own. Thank you grandma, I can never say it enough. I love you, and as always I’ll see you soon. Love, Little Anna.

OMG I CRIED JUST READING THAT! I WOULD OF LOOVE TO USE THAT (IF THE FUNERAL WAS IN THE FUTURE!

First and foremost, i am so sorry for your loss-my thoughts are with you. Secondly, this is a beautiful, moving letter. It is ultimately up to you as far as whether you want to read this at the funeral or not. If i were you, i would instead perform some sort of eulogy-it would be more appropriate. The reason for this is due to that tradition at a funeral. Instead of directly addressing her in the way you'd like to, it's best to address her generally, in front of everyone who attends the funeral. Talk about her, her life, how she affected everybody around her, talk about anything and everything you want to. This letter that you wrote, i think is something that you should more so hold onto, cherish, and keep to yourself. Perhaps place it somewhere to hold onto and keep for the rest of your life. If you choose to create a vigil in your room or house, you can even keep the letter in or on the vigil. The main reason why i would discourage you reading this letter is really only because it is a personal thing that was meant to be read by her and written and read by yourself. If you'd like, you can reword some of this in a way that generally addresses her to the people who listen to you; what she did for you, your family, but word it in a way like "my grandmother did" or "my grandmother affected" instead of saying "you," use third person terms (she, her, and "my grandmother did" "my grandmother affected" etc). This is just my opinion. It is absolutely up to you though as to what you want to do. If you feel that you really want to read this letter, absolutely do it. Again, my deepest condolences to you and your family.
